Frugal Living Tips – Buy Used Not New

Another of my favorite frugal living tips is buying used instead of new.

You can often find brand new clothes with the tags on at the Salvation Army or resale shops. You can also shop garage sales for new clothes people just never wore. Clothes are just one thing you can buy used.

Buying a used car often makes better sense than buying new because of the depreciation once a new car leaves the lot. You may pay a significant amount less by getting a car that is one or two years old as opposed to buying it brand new.

Furniture and home decor are some of my favorite items to buy used. Flea markets, auctions, garage sales and craigslist can give you great deals on expensive items that you may not have been able to afford new. You may also find one-of-a-kind pieces that you would never get on a showroom floor and will give your room a unique look

Frugal may mean that you pay less but it doesn’t mean that you don’t get top quality!
