Dairy Free Chocolate Chip Cookies for Everyone!

dairy-free-chocolate-chip-cookieThese chocolate chip cookies are so good. The best I have ever had and the hubby loves them just as much and he gets to eat the ones with milk in them! Whether you are dairy free or not, you must try these cookies!

Frugal Tips for Chocolate Chip Cookies

Make a large batch of these cookies, make some for that night and freeze the rest. To freeze these cookies, spray a cookie sheet with cooking oil. Mix the batter and spoon tablespoon size dollops onto the cookies sheet. Flash freeze (just place in the freezer as is) for about two hours. Once frozen, you can transfer them into a ziplock bag. Thaw when needed and bake as directed below.

*All of my snack recipes can be used with dairy or made into dairy free recipe versions. I have a milk allergy while my husband does not so I often try to make recipes in which substitutions can be made either way. My snack recipes are also made to be as frugal as possible.

Dairy Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Gather It Up!

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup dairy free margarine (or regular butter of course!)
2/3 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour
2/3 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups dairy free chocolate chips (Ghiradeli makes some excellent dark chocolate chips that are dairy free but for those who can have milk, any chocolate chips will work fine!)

Cook It Up!

Mix sugar, brown sugar, and butter or margarine. Add vanilla and the egg and mix everything together. Add the flour, baking soda and salt and mix again. Fold in dairy free chocolate chips. Spoon tablespoon size balls on a baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Watch these closely. Our previous gas stove cooked them closer to 8 minutes while our current electric stove took almost ten minutes.

Serve It Up!

Chocolate chip cookies are best right out of the oven with a large glass or cold milk (soy milk in my case!) Even better, if you freeze a bunch you can make as little or as much as you want!

This is an excellent recipe, I wanted to freezer some but my kids couldn’t stop eating them until nothing was left. I made with regular butter, though
