Easy Bolognese Sauce

This is quite a tasty and easy bolognese sauce to make. I made it for several years before I made it for the hubby. To my surprise he actually liked it! I won’t go that long without sharing a recipe again!

Frugal Tips for Easy Bolognese Sauce

Purchase the ingredients on sale when possible. You could also use ground turkey instead of ground beef.

*All of my dinner recipes can be used with dairy or made into dairy free recipe versions. I have a milk allergy while my husband does not so I often try to make recipes in which substitions can be made either way. My dinner recipes are also made to be as frugal as possible.

Easy Bolognese Sauce

Gather It Up!

1 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup each finely chopped onion, carrot, and celery
4 oz of ground beef or turkey
3 oz of ground italian sausage
1/2 cup of red wine (I just use whatever happens to be in the fridge at the time)
1 can crushed tomatoes
rosemary and sage to taste
salt and pepper to taste

Cook It Up!
Saute celery, carrot and onion in oil for a few minutes then throw in and cook the ground sausage and ground beef. Add the wine and cook until the wine reduces. Simmer for an hour.

Serve It Up!

I often eat this as is but when I have it with the hubby I steam up some rice to dish it over! Yum!
