Most of us enjoy a nice dinner out where we don’t have to cook, nor clean up, the meal. That’s why I have come up with 5 ways to dine out on a budget so that you can still have fun and enjoy going out with friends or family.
Coupons – Coupons are one of the best ways to dine out on a budget. Check out your favorite restaurants and see if they give out coupons in local ad sheets or sign up for their rewards program. Restaurants will often give coupons for free appetizers or buy one entrée get another for free when you sign up for their rewards.
Breakfast – Breakfast is not only the most important meal of the day but, when dining out, it is also one of the cheapest. Instead of going at night, take your family out for a large breakfast at your favorite restaurant.
Lunch – While breakfast is often the cheapest, dining out on a budget at lunch also has its advantages. You will often find the same menu items served at lunch as at dinner but for a much cheaper price. Try having an early dinner, around four in the afternoon, and you may find that you get dinner foods at lunch prices.
Appetizers – Often dining out is more about socializing with friends and family and less about the food. Have a salad or a sandwich before you go and just get an appetizer instead of a full meal. Some restaurants even have “Happy Hours” on their appetizers and this lets you eat for even less.
Split a meal – Don’t be afraid to ask for another plate when dining out. The meals you get when you eat out are often much larger than you need so share an entrée with a friend or loved one. Not only is it better on your budget, but it will be better on your waistline as well.
