Kale Chips – A Frugal Snack or Side

Kale is a new find for me but many have touted its super food qualities for years. I’m always pushing the hubby to try new veggies but this is one I’m thrilled he turned his nose up at, that way I get the whole pan to myself!
Frugal Tips for Kale Chips
Look for kale when it is on sale or just when you are wanting a healthy treat. I can often use one bunch for two sides or two snacks.
Kale Chips
Gather It Up!
A half a bunch of kale per person
Olive Oil
Lemon Juice
Cook It Up!
Toss kale with a minimal amount of olive oil and lemon juice. You may find that you like more or less lemon juice. Bake in a 375 degree oven until crisp. Watch carefully as this cooks fast.
Serve It Up!
I like to eat this as an afternoon snack or as a side to pastas or other dishes.

hunk – I don’t know of any restaurant that sells kale chips, at least not in my small Midwest city! It is very easy to make at home!
